It is never easy to be the parent of a neurodivergent child , especially when support is few and far between.
With a focus on ADHD, but touching on other neurodiversities, Strive run parent workshops throughout the year - a safe place for parents to learn more about their child's needs, discuss their experiences and learn how to move forwards effectively.
Though the content is always evolving to fit the specific needs of the group, you can expect to focus on;
- Understanding the neurobiology and mechanisms of ADHD and general neurodiversity
- How these conditions present in children and young people
- Effective strategies for managing behaviour, emotions, learning etc
- Recognising triggers and "hot spots" in your child's behaviour
- Improving communication within the family unit
- Creating effective communication surrounding needs with your child's school
- The pressure cooker effect - how to relieve stress within the home environment
Can be in-person depending on location, but typically is delivered online.
This workshop is for you if:
- You are the parent/guardian or co-parent of a child or young person with ADHD, ASD, ODD etc.
- You would like to learn more about how best to support neurodiverse young people from a parenting perspective
- Your child has a diagnosis, is on the waitlist, or suspected to have ADHD, ASD, ODD etc.
- You are looking for a supportive environment with other parents/guardians or co-parents of children and young people with ADHD and neurodiversity.
